How The Treatment Works

The SDA Process

Clinical Assessment & Imaging

(10-20 minutes)

We begin with a detailed examination and, where needed, digital X-rays to assess the tooth, surrounding bone, and root structure. This allows us to confirm that a simple extraction is appropriate and rule out any need for a surgical approach. Your treatment plan is explained clearly before we proceed.

Local Anesthesia & Comfort Preparation

(5-10 minutes)

A local anesthetic is gently administered to fully numb the area, ensuring you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. We take extra care to ensure complete numbness before beginning, and additional comfort measures are available if needed.

Gentle Tooth Removal

(10-20 minutes)

Using specialized dental instruments, the tooth is carefully loosened and removed with controlled, precise movements. The focus is on minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues while ensuring complete removal of the tooth. Most extractions are completed quickly and smoothly. We may use digital X-rays and piezo surgical instruments to support accurate diagnosis and minimally traumatic extraction techniques.

Aftercare & Healing Support

(Immediate guidance)

Once the tooth is removed, the area is cleaned and gauze is placed to support clot formation and healing. You will receive detailed aftercare instructions to promote recovery, reduce discomfort, and minimize the risk of complications such as dry socket.

Many of our surgical treatments can be performed under moderate conscious sedation to maximize comfort and reduce treatment anxiety. Sedation is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist, allowing patients to feel relaxed throughout more complex procedures.
