The SDA Process

Consultation & Digital Assessment

(30-45 minutes)

Your treatment begins with a detailed examination of your teeth, gums, and supporting structures. Digital imaging and clinical measurements help us determine how much tissue needs to be adjusted and whether the procedure is being performed for restorative, cosmetic, or combined purposes.

Personalized Treatment Planning

(15-20 minutes)

A bespoke treatment plan is created to achieve the ideal balance between function and aesthetics. Careful planning ensures the gumline remains symmetrical while providing sufficient healthy tooth structure for any future restorative work.

Precision Tissue Contouring

(45-60 minutes)

Under local anesthesia, the gum tissue is carefully reshaped and, where clinically necessary, a small amount of supporting bone is adjusted to expose more of the natural tooth. We use diode laser technology and advanced periodontal instruments to carefully reshape gum tissue with precision and control.

Healing & Restoration Planning

(Several weeks+)

As the gums heal, they settle into their new position, creating a healthier and more stable foundation. If crown lengthening has been performed to facilitate restorative treatment, your final crown or restoration can then be completed at the appropriate stage of healing.

Many of our surgical treatments can be performed under moderate conscious sedation to maximize comfort and reduce treatment anxiety. Sedation is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist, allowing patients to feel relaxed throughout more complex procedures.
